My dog, Butch, just turned 10. He is a 120lb rott/border collie mix who thinks he is a 10lb puppy. I really don't think he realizes how old he is till after he chases a soccer ball for half an hour or tries to keep up with us on a bike ride or tries to get into the back of the truck. He can be so sore from trying to play yet when he sees a shiny reflection off of ANYTHING he proceeds to start drooling and then pounce on it. If his soccer ball starts rolling, he is right there to grab it. Sometimes, he plays so hard, we have to massage his legs so they don't hurt as bad.
I haven't had this dog his whole life. He's kind of my step-child, so to speak, in that my husband has had him since high school. Butch minds Ramsey, but when he is upset about something, or thinks that something needs attention (including himself), he comes to me. He has this habit of gluing his head to my leg and walking under my hand to get himself pet. When another dog passes by our apartment, he comes to me and whines. When the fireworks started this weekend, he tried to follow me to the bedroom. He follows me around when we go to visit people and when he is nervous. Butch isn't allowed in our bedroom (he sheds like no other dog that I have ever met) but when I was sick this Wednesday, he snuck in and laid next to our bed.
I wouldn't say that Butch isn't a protective dog, he doesn't necessarily act like a guard dog with snarling and biting and all that. But I have learned to tell when he gets nervous. I'm not sure exactly what he views me as in our family, but he certainly acts different towards me than Ramsey or anybody else he encounters. I guess he's just decided that I'm his mommy :) And that is fine with me.
Ann, your dog, Aggie, is a wonderful little beastie. This lady was trying to sell her pug puppies at our stake picnic and it was really hard not to steal her puppy! Aggie is definitely a doggy of legend!

I don't know if it is a better workout. I don't have a Wii (yet) but I already had an xbox and I found the game for $5 at a swapmeet. I got the dance pad at Game Stop for $20 and it is a universal pad so that when I do get a Wii, I can use it with that console as well. DDR appeals to me because since it is a game, its more than just working out. Running in place is just boring to me, and exercise doesn't give me the instant satisfaction that getting a high score on a game does. Plus, the game keeps telling me how awesome I am, especially when I reach a 100 combo. :P

I like necklaces and earrings :) I find that necklaces like to get tangled and earrings like to lose their mate. I used to use this mug holder that I made in 7th grade woodshop class to hang my bracelets and necklaces on. I found this really cute jewelry hanging thing at Target (on clearance) to hang my jewelry on, so they don't get tangled. It has a little saucer-like thing on the bottom so I can put brooches down there. As for earrings, I found Claire's (located in almost every mall) carries really cute earring holders. They are basically wire mesh mounted on a metal frame in all sorts of designs. You just stick your earrings through the mesh, and then they don't go anywhere!
Although, I think my grandma had it figured out as far as jewelry organization. She had a jewelry box whose size rivaled nightstands. This monster had doors on the sides that opened out so that you could hang your necklaces there. The top had a lid with a mirror on it and it had a million drawers. She had an impressive jewelry collection :)

I love necklaces and Earings. I have traditional jewelry box, however the hangers for the necklaces were too small and way too short. I'd end up with a big clump of necklaces even when they were put away nicely.
So my awesome husband built one for me. Basically a wood piece with pegs. It works amazingly well. The rest stays neatly in my box.

Go Cassie! I like your plan for ditching your audience. Is the Xbox and DDR a better workout than the Wii Fit exercise programs?

For my workout, I bust out my Xbox and Dance Dance Revolution! I don't have to leave my apartment and no one sees me look like a weirdo! It has a work out mode where you can set it to your weight and then it counts your steps and calculates the calories. It saves your progress every day so you can see how your doing. I've recently added holding on to 5lb weights in each hand and I've noticed it working on my tummy and arms. My calves are already toned :)
I like the rule, because the first time my hubby saw me do it, he laughed at how high I jump, so I do my workout after he leaves for work and before I go to work.

I did these for all my girls this year for their birthday. (I got them free from somewhere else...don't remember) When asked, my oldest said her favorite part of her birthday was when Snow White called her!
